What has happened to Individuality in music? It seems like everyone in music today wants to create music that follows some sort of template. Everyone wants to sound like everyone else. And I do not and will not ever understand it. Why not make your own sound? Why not be an individual? Sometimes I think its because people think it is too much work. Many find it easy to copy someone’s style and milk that for their entire career. And the worst thing is, the music industry promotes this! It sickens me. It’s as if people have decided that free thinking is bad, and that we should all sound the same and produce the same boring crap year after year.
Be yourself and create your own sound! Make music that you are proud of, and most of all, don’t do it just because you have to. If you do it without passion or excitement, It’s worthless in my opinion.
